Mary Gapinski - Mammiebean

Mary has always had a passion for interiors as far back as she can remember.  One of her earliest memories is attempting to make over a Sindy caravan only to find out poster paint & plastic are not a god mix. Mary loves the creative process.  Whether in a rehearsal room or in her workshop revamping a piece of vintage furniture.

During lockdown she focused her energies into her Mamiebean creations; creating flamboyant pieces that reflect character and personality.

'I want my work to make you smile every time you walk past! If magnolia is your thing Mamiebean won’t be for you!'

Blythe Duff

blythe.jpg

Blythe Duff is currently not playing Professor McGonagall in Harry Potter and the Cursed Child at The Palace Theatre on Shaftesbury Avenue.

She has decided to put 37 years as a professional actress on hold to allow COVID -19 to take the lead role. IT’S BEEN MURDER.

However, she is indulging her creativity in her craft room, surrounded by 47 years of theatre and tv memorabilia. (She started acting as a baby)
She intends to sift through her collection and repurpose it into distinctive and very personal paper goods, to bring you quirky, bespoke cards and keepsakes.

It’s no crime to put them in your basket.

Hoose on the Hill is an ethical, eco-conscious business set up by Carys Hobbs. Carys has spent the last 15 years working as a set and costume designer in the Scottish Theatre Industry.

The recent times have allowed Carys to pursue and expand her other passion of eco-living following a recent move from Central Glasgow to a small holding in East Ayrshire. She’s been a big advocate against fast fashion, big business and climate change for a long time, and 2020 has given her time to put her money where her mouth is and start a business that will both allow for eco-conscious escapes (coming 2021) and products made from deadstock and recycled fabrics.

'Working with Playing at Shops on the Rescene project to reuse, recycle and give new life to scenic backdrops has been a fantastic'.

James Young - Colourblind Artist

TCA_edited.jpg

James has been acting on stage and screen for the last 25 years and has been colourblind his whole life. Yes, he once bought a plum shirt thinking it was black and yes he has used the pink ball thinking it was white at snooker, but he carries on drawing it as he sees it. His work is inspired by the buildings in and around the Southside of Glasgow. Now taking requests for commissions in 2021. instagram.com/thecolourblindartist2020
